Essen
Essen is the largest city in the Ruhr area. This town was nearly complete destroyed in the second world war. Also one of germany's oldest churches, the Muenster church, was hard damaged. For a long time the image of Essen were mines, blast furnaces, iron works an other heavy industrial factories. Today is Essen a modern city with large green areas for example Stadtgarden and Grugapark.
